Handmade Traditions & Creative Roots

Welcome to Somethings by Christine! I’m Christine Massoud-Castro—a proud New Bedford native, an NYC theater alum, a history-loving nerd, and a lifelong crafter.

Creating things by hand has been a lifelong passion of mine, rooted deeply in my family history. I grew up watching my Sitto (my grandmother), a talented seamstress, work her magic with a needle and thread. She taught me that handmade items aren't just objects—they are stories told through patience, precision, and care.

Between those early lessons at her side and my professional background in the theatre, I’ve spent my life learning how to bring ideas to life. By day, I tackle the corporate manufacturing world, but by night, I retreat to my tiny home office/craft room. Here, I get to blend the structural precision of my day job with my deep love for historical romanticism, literature, and art.

I like to think of this shop as a collection of Everyday Artifacts for the Sophisticated Nerd. It’s where my "theatre kid" energy meets that "old-world" heart.

In my shop, you will find:
~ Handmade Beaded Jewelry: Wearable poetry inspired by my love for Shakespeare, the Tudor era, and a touch of Dark Academia. From the celestial wire-wrapping of The Music of the Spheres to the heraldic tributes in The War of the Roses, every piece is a conversation starter. (Fun Fact: I have incredibly sensitive ears and can almost never wear traditional hooks, so I proudly offer high-quality clip-on and hypoallergenic options so no one is left out of the earring club!)

~ Knitting Notions: Beaded row and stitch counters for fellow knitters and crocheters. These actually started as a "DIY for me" project because I was tired of losing my place in my own knitting patterns. I liked making (and using) them so much that my workspace overflowed, and a whole new collection was born to help save your sanity, too!

~ Cozy Crafts & Charms: From miniature hand-knitted ornament sweaters to tactile 3D-printed bag charms and sewn holiday accessories. If I can dream it up, I'm probably trying to make it.

All of this magic happens in my Massachusetts home studio, strictly supervised by my Chief Enchantment Officer (CEO), Leia, who takes her job of napping on my supplies very seriously.

Looking for my digital designs? If you’re looking for my digital templates and event stationery—a journey that started when I designed the elegant stationery suite for my stepdaughter’s Quinceañera!—head over to my sister shop, Digital Somethings by Christine.

Thank you for supporting my small business, keeping the arts alive, and letting me share a piece of my story with yours! 💛
